The British Horse Society is the nation’s leading equine charity with a passion for horses that is backed by knowledge and expertise. The BHS represents and provides a range of services for horse riders, horse owners, enthusiasts and professionals.

Currently in the middle of a major business transformation programme to move from several legacy IT systems to a Silverbear implementation of MS Dynamics CRM, we are seeking an
application and software developer with MS CRM and SQL skills with a proven track record of using multi-tier platforms and reporting solutions to join us.

You will take responsibility for supporting internal IT developments and ensuring successful delivery to users. You will also liaise with external suppliers and developers to troubleshoot any issues arising from the software changeover.

As the system owner, you will analyse high level requirements and design solutions for incremental development, completing development and testing.

Supporting around 100 staff, you will work as part of a small IT team designing, testing and maintaining solutions that provide relevant data to IT users, including integrating several databases (Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SQL Server and Oracle).

Your other duties will include:
- Working collaboratively with users to interpret requirements and devise technical designs
- Being the technical face-off to the 3rd party suppliers

- Completing incremental development and testing
- Integrating code provided by third parties into end-to-end solutions
- Developing maintenance, control and distribution of IS/ICT quality and environmental standards


To be considered for this position, you must have:

- Experience of configuring and supporting the MS CRM Dynamics application

- Strong experience of delivering packaged software solutions
- Track record of designing and developing reporting solutions for third party applications, preferably using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

- Background working with and diagnosing problems within multi-tier, multi-platform environments

- High level of competence working with the standard MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel and Access)

Any experience with any of the following will also help your application:

- Writing SQL queries against Oracle databases

- Solid approach to data migration gained on any database platform

- Cross-platform systems integration work.

- Any experience developing and supporting VBA code

In addition, you will need to be an excellent communicator with a proven ability to accurately interpret and document requirements and drive decision making through the use of well-guided communication to staff at all levels.
