Motor Personal Injury Claim Teams Team Leader required to work for an insurance company in Newcastle.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Motor Personal Injury Claims Team Leader to join a thriving insurance company in Newcastle.  This is a unique opportunity for a highly competent and technical personal injury professional to assist in a new project and make a real impact working closely with the Claims Operations Managers.  You will be responsible for leading and delivering all measures of team performance, through coaching and developing the staff so that the department can adapt to the ongoing needs of change.

The main responsibilities will be as follows.
- To supervise a team of circa 10 Personal Injury Claims Handlers, leading by example, setting the tone of behaviour, motivating and mentoring team members so that each individual attains their true potential whilst following and up holding excellent customer service and TCF requirements.
- To assist the Claims Managers with the full recruitment process for new staff.
- To be responsible for training and development to ensure that the required levels of skills and experience are available which will involve carrying out monthly 121 meetings and appraisals to discuss performance and behaviour, implementing relevant development plans.
- To provide technical and job related support to team members ensuring company standards, procedures, compliance and fraud procedures are maintained.
- To manage the workflow to ensure that team KPIs are maintained and reported, along with production of meaning, timely and accurate reports.
- To investigate complaints addressed to the Customer Service Adviser, Manager, Director or Chief Executive or referred by The Financial Ombudsman Service and to draft replies which will be passed to the Controller for approval. 
- To resolve disputes over the telephone where possible and act as a technical referral point and trouble shooter for team members in relation to complex personal injury cases, ensuring large claims are settled fairly, minimising losses where appropriate.

A salary range of between £20,000 and £25,000 will be on offer which is dependent on length of relevant experience, qualifications and performance at interview.  An outstanding benefits package will be offered also.

To be considered for this great opportunity, applicants must have a thorough understanding of motor personal injury claims procedures and handling, along with the insurance industry in general.  Extensive supervisory experience is required having had an involvement in operational duties such as inducting, training and coaching new team members, carrying out appraisals, and acting as a technical referral point.  You must have experience handling fraudulent disputes, constructing complex letters and MI reports along with their analysis. The ability to lead, motivate and offer tact and diplomacy to internal and external entities is very important. ACII exams will put applicants at an advantage as would a degree.
