L2 Support role has 5 key areas of involvement (TO APPLY YOU MUST HAVE
SKILLS IN ONE OF THE AREAS BELOW):
- Data, specifically market data
- Networking (working knowledge of UDP, TCP, Multicast, Unicast, VLANs, network
architecture...)
- Server hardware
- Linux (preferably Centos)
administration
- Application support (anyone involved in software development
would be able to do this too)

YOU MUST BE A US CITIZEN TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and systematic problem solving skills.

• Good Linux knowledge with Systems Admin, including fluency in command line
tools, system log files and scripting languages.

• Competent TCP/IP and linux networking knowledge.

• Understand real time system fundamentals (not essential) and willing to
learn detailed system architecture to assist with troubleshooting.

• Can-do attitude: essential. Ability to use the available info and work the
problem - even if it's one you have not seen before: essential.
•2.2 or above
Degree in IT, Maths, Physics or similar
•Any experience in Programming C,
C++ , PHP etc on Unix / Linux would be an advantage , but not essential

INVESTMENT BANKING EXPERIENCE OR MARKET DATA / DATA FEEDS IS NOT ESSENTIAL ,
BUT A INTEREST AND ANY KNOWLEDGE WOULD BE USEFUL

My client is a leading provider or software and systems to the investment
banking community, with offices all around the globe.

Role:

Provide deep (level 2) technical troubleshooting for problems with real time
investment banking data systems. Resolve 75% of technical questions yourself,
liasing with specialist internal networking and development teams on the
remainder.

This is a highly technical position, requiring good analytical and problem
solving skills; not just desktop or user support. Candidates are sought at
junior to intermediate level and will be given training in real time market data
investment banking systems and other applicable trading technology.
