Marine Engineering Officer - Teesport

Our client is a leading UK ports business offering end to end supply chain solutions, employing over 1200 people in the UK. With headquarters based in the North East of England, our client operates Teesport, the fourth largest port in the country, and is the statutory port authority for the river Tees. The Company also operates a number of port facilities on and around the river Humber and provides logistics solutions including warehousing and haulage operations throughout the UK.

Our client is seeking a Marine Engineer holding a minimum Class 4 Motor unlimited Certificate of Competency STCW95 compliant. With sea-going experience on medium speed diesel powered vessels you will be required to maintain the engine room, undertake inspections, take engine room readings and maintain daily performance logs. You will sail as 2nd Engineer but will also be expected to perform shore-based maintenance operations. Working to planned maintenance schedules, you will assist in engineering tasks both on-board the vessels and within the workshop area.

The successful candidate will hold an ENG1 medical certificate, have the ability to problem solve and be comfortable working as part of a focused team, the position will also offer the opportunity for career development leading to higher levels of certification.

You will work a 12.5 hour shift pattern.

A remunerations package appropriate to the position will be offered to the right individual.
