Manager, Network Services: VOIP/MPLS/Enterprise

Responsibilities:

·Manages a team of network engineers, providing goals, reviews, ongoing coaching and leadership, technical mentorship, and support for critical problem solving

·Designs and implements network infrastructure solutions

·Manages and oversees staff that maintain and operate all network related services and devices including:
o Firewalls
o Switches
o Routers
o Wireless access solutions
o Remote access solutions
o Intrusion prevention systems
o Conferencing Systems
o PBX and VoIP Systems

·Maintains and improves documentation of network configurations, standards, procedures and promotes their improvement

·Analyses log data for network or performance problems, identifies root causes, plans solutions to address problems and mentors staff on using analysis techniques

·Stays current with networking technologies, industry best practices, evolving technologies

·Resource planning and resource management around projects, sustainment activities, break/fix activities, problem management and staff resourcing

·Establishes configurations, operations and monitoring standards and successfully implements

·Acts as a technical subject matter expert for escalations involving network services and devices

·Works with vendors to establish clear goals in the development of SOW’s while overseeing or leading the oversight of vendor performance

·Work with division teams to Develop, Implement and Report performance benchmarks and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

·Work closely with other technology groups to follow standards, adopt best practices across teams and share tools and knowledge between subject matter experts.

Requirements

-BA/BSc in Business, Computer Science, or related field

-5+ years’ experience in a network engineer related field

-Experience in Cisco Networking Technologies

-Experience in Avaya Phone Systems is a plus

-Experience in Network Architecture and Design, Capacity Management, Defining Operating Standards, and Network Performance Monitoring

-Experience in Firewalls (stateful packet inspection, configuration hardening, host based firewalls) in a global enterprise network environment

-Experience in designing or implementing high availability solutions (dynamic load distribution, redundant connections, dynamic routing protocols, etc.)

-Experience in establishing operational maintenance goals and scheduling work distribution to address maintenance goals

-Experience designing solutions and providing cost estimates for both deployment and ongoing operations

-Will be responsible for establishing standards (configuration, operation, etc.)

-Will be responsible for leading the team in evolving the network management and security strategies

-Must be able to gather business requirements, estimate capacity demand and design a solution that meets the capacity requirements for multi-year deployments

-Must be an experienced leader, a teacher and a coach

-Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

-Certifications in CISSP, CCIE, CCNP or CISA are pluses

-Familiarity and experience with WAN Caching is a plus
