My client a prestigious organisation located in Basingstoke are recruiting a Qualified Management Accountant. Its an interesting and varied role providing finance and decision support across a range of disciplines within the business.
Job Description
Working alongside the business management team the role will: Offer advanced knowledge of financial accounting practices and principles over all areas of finance. May specialise in depth in one area and will input commercial insights and contribute to business proposals. Responsible for drafting policy proposals and will recommend and implement new methods with limited guidance from manager. Prepare reporting packs giving insight to the key performance indicators. Build and maintain reporting formats and hierarchies. Input into the budgeting and forecasting activity. This will include liaison with the group planning and reporting team. Maintain a strong financial control infrastructure including undertaking/approving balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis. Undertake ad hoc project support and analysis of costs/income to enable the business to better understand the cost/income drivers and support the business making process. Understand the core processes and areas of risk within the business area and work with the management team to mitigate them.
The ideal candidate will be a Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with experience gained in similar working environment. Advanced professional knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices and able to work unsupervised and outside defined scope of the role. Good Excel experience. SAP experience desirable, (journal entry and G/L, S/L interrogation, using and understanding reports). Experience of working successfully in a team alongside business managers. Able to build constructive and effective relationships. Able to demonstrate influencing skills at all levels, including senior management Initiative to find solutions and improve ways of working. Highly numerate with good communication skills, both verbal and written with strong report writing skills. Self motivated, highly organised and methodical and attention to detail. Able to meet tight deadlines and deal with the prioritisation of conflicting requirements. Able to develop, manage and motivate more junior members of the team.
