Management Accountant / Cost Accountant

An unusual 'foot in the door’ interim role with chance of permanence has been created at a growing distribution company in the local area.  This is the perfect time to be joining the company with new projects and expansion happening and is ideal for a commercially savvy accountant with experience of helping a business control its costs.

The Management Accountant / Cost Accountants will be responsible for:

• Providing daily / weekly / monthly spend reports and analysis to budget holders
• Challenging and approving all operational cost spends
• Agreeing preferred supplier lists for all cost spends and agreeing rates / terms with suppliers
• Forecasting monthly cost spends for rolling budget purposes
• Evaluation of spend requirements against other alternatives
• Review of operational processes to identify cost savings
• Managing a cost savings budget to drive costs down in the business

Essential Requirements are:

• Must have experience of the above duties in a similar role
• Must have worked in a busy finance department but with significant exposure to operational teams
• Must be flexible and adaptable to ever changing business needs
• Must be flexible around busy month end periods
• Able to work under own initiative
• Some form of accounting qualification (degree level and above)
