Working directly with the Head of Finance, you will possess ambition and the ability to communicate and build rapport at all levels.
The Management Accountant/Commercial Analyst directly drives operational profitability through commercial analysis and cost reduction. You will work closely with operational managers, ensuring they control and adhere to their budgets. As well as providing support for new bids, purchasing and investment proposals, you will deputise for the Head of Finance in their absence.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities include:
- Monthly Actual and Forecast P&L’s including variance analysis
- Responsible for all journals (including accruals) to support production of monthly management reports.
- Provide commercial bid support through financial modelling
- Pricing for new and existing clients.
- Supporting business through appropriate financial analysis
- Provide timely and key business performance information to operational managers.
- Liaising with operational managers to ensure they control cost
- Prepare annual budgets.
- Updating and improving existing client profitability models.
- Reviewing company payroll for accuracy.
- Support for purchasing and investment proposals.
- Leadership in improved debtor management across the company.
- Reviewing Purchase Orders/invoices have been raised in line with policy
- Reviewing expenses and emergency payments for validity.
- Any other duties reasonably required of the post holder by the Head of Finance.
Experience and Skills Required:
- CCAB Finalist / CCAB Qualified or equivalent by experience or ability essential
- Sufficient relevant previous experience of all of the following to ensure the successful candidate is able to make an immediate effective contribution in the role:
- management reporting
- commercial analysis
- financial control experience
- costing and pricing (within service industry) highly desirable
- budgetary control systems
- budget-holder support
- training/development of non-financial managers.
- Srong communication skills. Able to demonstrate ability to successfully relate financial matters to non-financial managers encourage and promote innovative ways of working.
- Experience of double entry with a good understanding of debits and credits essential for this role.
- Strong level of IT Skills required knowledge in Excel, Word and SAP essential.
- A team-player who sets a personal example in building and developing strong and effective relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
