Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias - Barnsley - Rate Negotiable -27-30k per year

An excellent contract opportunity is available to join my client in a period of growth, and the completion of the transition to lean manufacturing this has opened a new and exciting contracting role which will present challenge after challenge and the opportunity to make a difference, this may offer additional opportunities for the right individual.

As an Electrical Bias Maintenance engineer you must have an understanding of PLC controls, CNC and breakdown maintenance with previous experience.

  • Experience in window manufacturing machinery would be an advantage
  • Available to start mid-Feb to beginning of March - minimum 3 months +
  • Night Shift -Monday to Friday 10 pm till 6 am

Key Specifics of Role

1.            Maintenance and Capability

-               Ensure the maintenance of critical machinery is undertaken at the correct frequency.

-               Ensure the drive of capability of critical machinery.

2.            Kaizen

-               Exploit the Kaizen toolbox to support the production department and it’s process utilising 5S, TPM, SMED, problem free engineering and FMEA.

-               Involvement in projects from conception to completion.

3.            Equipment Health Monitoring (EHM)

-               Identification of equipment and machinery requiring EHM

4.            Thermography

-               Establish a critical site infrastructure map and determine frequency of testing.  

-               Undertake thermo graphic analysis to indicate early failure of electrical parts of the site infrastructure and machinery, detecting abnormal levels without interruption of power supplies.

-               Undertake thermo graphic analysis of machinery mechanical sub assembly’s.

5.            PAT Testing

-               Undertake PAT testing at the agreed frequency.

6.             Health and Safety

-               Ensure complete adherence to the wearing of PPE, Health and Safety Regulations and Safe Working Regulations.
