LOGISTICS BUSINESS ANALYST £28k circa Daventry

Job Purpose

The Business Analyst will aim to optimise service quality while decreasing transport costs through the provision of Management Information and reporting to a variety of stakeholders to aide effective management decision making.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret company wide information to assist management decision making.
  • Providing the Senior logistic Management team & Operations Team with a range of accurate business information based reports in a clear and concise format.
  • Supplement reporting with insightful summary, analysis and recommendations.
  • Create and develop a Company Management Information pack.
  • Monitoring actual performance against overall objectives, financial budgets and KPI’s.
  • To continuously improve the reporting function by appropriately challenging the current situation and reporting while proactively looking for ways to improve the data.
  • Manage reporting standards, templates and knowledge/data sources to ensure accurate and consistent reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of new and existing business processes and controls to drive internal efficiencies.
  • Develop business cases and reports as required at both site and company level.
  • Work alongside Client Business Analysts as a primary contact to interpret and develop delivery data.
  • Support the development of tender response documents with statistical analysis for new business opportunities.

Summary of Personal Capabilities/Competencies

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in an analyst role within a logistics environment
  • Degree or equivalent in Business or IT related subject (minimum 2:1)
  • Advanced skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft applications including Project and Visio
  • Strong analytical capabilities with ability to summarise data and prepare concise reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Highly credible and be able to influence and win the confidence of others
  • Good presentation and a polite, tactful and friendly character
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines, be able to prioritise and make decisions whilst under pressure
  • Be able to work on your own initiative
  • Strong commercial awareness

Qualification in project management or equivalent (Prince 2 etc) desirable
