Santander aims to become the SME Bank of choice. To us, being the best means being a bank that businesses want to work with. We want to be known for the quality of our service and the depth of our relationships with customers. To achieve this we need sales professionals who are empowered in their role and who take ownership of their clients and our service to them. We are looking for high performers who can balance driving sales growth whilst embedding a customer focused culture. Our Local Business Managers have an individual relationship with their clients, managing their own portfolio and ensuring they deliver on their promises. This is your chance to demonstrate your commercial ability and play a part in our future strategy, as we look to achieve our seventh year of continuous growth.
As a Local Business Manager your main responsibilities will involve; • Developing new customer relationships in the Business Banking sector and achieve set out targets. • Managing a portfolio of existing customers, increasing the depth of their relationship and raising their level of product holding within the bank. • Being the local subject expert for branch colleagues; and representing Santander in the local business by working with the Key Business Influencers, and raising the banks profile.
As a Local Business Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include; • Face to face experience in dealing with small businesses (Up to £250,000 annual turnover) and a strong preference for Business Banking. • A comprehensive understanding of the financial and non-financial issues facing small businesses and the ability to engage and communicate with Business Banking customers. • The ability to communicate verbally and visually to all internal and external groups. • Proven record of exceeding challenging business sales targets, lending targets and customer development rates.
Full UK Licence/Car: Whilst the Local Business Manager role is predominantly branch based there is similarly a need to attend networking events and see customers. A Full UK Licence and a car are therefore desirable, particularly in branches outside city centre locations.
