Loans 2 Go offer quick cash loans which are secured against the customers vehicle.
We operate in a relatively new, under-developed sector of the short-term lending industry. Our branches are smart, visible and corporately branded, reflecting our up-to-date and professional approach to business. The service we offer is the provision of quick and easy, across-the-counter, short-term loans, in cash if required, to clients with immediate cash flow needs, providing they own a vehicle which they can use as security. The product is referred to in the industry as a log book loan.
We have been acquired by a large US corporation and are rapidly expanding to a targeted 250 branches over the next 3 years.
We believe in treating our customers fairly and ethically and we operate in a highly regulated business area.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to head up the legal department of a rapidly expanding business reporting directly to the Managing Director (who is a barrister). The role involves a high degree of autonomy and you will work closely with all departments within the organisation. The successful candidate will be either a solicitor or barrister with some post qualification experience, ideally in litigation.
The main element of the role will be litigation and will involve litigation preparation following pre-action protocols, drafting pleadings and skeleton arguments, court advocacy and negotiation of settlements.
A significant part of the role will involve compliance, review of legal documentation and procedures, implementation of new consumer credit legislation and handling FOS complaints.
In addition, the role will provide exposure to most general legal areas required by business such as conveyancing, employment law, company law (with company secretarial type duties), health and safety, and sundry legal matters. You will also be the point of contact for liaising with, and instructing, external legal advisers.
The position is based at our Rochdale head office but there will be a reasonable amount of travel across the UK particularly in relation to court appearances.
Our employees must be individuals with scruples and integrity - we operate ethically to a Code of Practice and trade under a Consumer Credit Licence.
Drive and self-confidence are prerequisites for this position. You will also need good organisational skills, good communication skills and must be computer literate.
The salary is upto £40,000 and the salary offered will be dependant upon the candidates skills and experience.
