Junior Transport Planner

This role will be part of a newly centralised Transport Planning Team. There will be aninitial probationary period of 21 weeks. Following this, individuals who have proved themselves will be offered a permanent position with the company.
- Working as part of the central transport team. Trafficking of a pool of nominated drivers (Approx 35) to achieve the required customer service level in relation to on time delivery of allocated work.
- Responsible for maximising driver's available hours whilst staying at all times within driver's hours legislation.
- Highlight to the team leader any productivity concerns with individuals
- Monitor driver adherence to best practice through use of Isotrak vehicle tracking system
- Co ordinate with handling agents at collection points as well as customers at delivery points to resolve any driver delays experienced
- Review driver league tables and focus on least product drivers
- Plan drivers to arrive for scheduled maintenance 100% on time in line with compliance requirements
- Route the drivers in such a way to minimise any empty miles incurred

A good knowledge of Uk geography is required along with a knowledge of drivers hours legislation requirements. Previous Transport Planning experience is expected and within the Automotive industry is a bonus.

Our Automotive client are looking for a Junior Transport Planner at their depot in South Yorkshire.

£10 per hour
