My client a leading technology company is lookig to take on a junior database administrator with a view to training for rapid progression,
Job Description
The Job:
1. Daily process and job checks on SQL servers;
2. Ensuring that storage, archive, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly;
3. Develop, manage, test and implement backup and recovery plans;
4. Produce technical and user documentation for production processes and procedures;
5. Emphasis production support and MS SQL server 2008r2 product stack;
6. Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security;
7. Working as part of a team assisting and supporting other team members;
8. Design, implement and test high availability systems to support company applications;
9. 24/7 support of current worldwide contracts;
10. Worldwide travel at short notice.
Person Specification
The candidate will be expected to have experience of:
- SQL Server
-Ability to backup and restore databases
-Knowledge of T-SQL
-Knowledge fo SSRS
-Experience as junior dba, report writer etc.
