The role entails ownership of the jewellery range from development through to trading and to support the buyer across the ladies accessories range from initial stages of strategy through to management of stock in season. As a Junior Jewellery Buyer based in Greater London some task will include assisting in the sourcing and development of commercial products, in line with trend packs and market research and effectively communicating to suppliers with cost price negotiations, regarding development requirements, delivery due dates and critical paths. To complete comparative shop and store visits on a regular basis. You will prepare strategy documents under the guidance and direction of the Buyer and assist with preparation of documents and presentations of seasonal ranges.
- Someone with a track record of buying costume jewellery for a similar retailer at an established assistant buyer or junior jewellery buyer level
- Someone with a track record of working across a wide variety of accessories and clothing preferable
- Someone with a track record of working with suppliers and factories in India and China
- MS Excel skills - to an intermediate standard
- Is commercially focused and aware of trends
- Is creative and capable of trend understanding & interpretation in relation to their competitors as well as their own customers
