My client expects all thier consultants to be talented, especially from a technical perspective. Development is accelerated through a process tailored to the individual, but which typically includes a blend of on-the-job mentoring, bespoke internal courses¬, and externally provided courses.
My client is looking for talented and inquisitive individuals to broaden their Human Factors and User Research capabilities. The successful candidates will have a passion for improving products for users, and the enthusiasm to drive new ideas forward. They will also have the intelligence and ability to think for themselves in a way that generates valuable insight. As a Human Factors Consultant you will be part of a team of creative human factors experts, engineers, physicists and designers delivering successful products to market.
The Role:
- Support the design and delivery of research studies globally (can require travel)
- Analysis and translation of research findings
- Report and present insights and recommendations for project and design directions
Qualifications and training:
- A first degree in science or engineering (1st or 2:1)
- A specialism in human factors, ergonomics, cognitive psychology, usability, anthropology, product interaction or product - design, through experience or training
Skills and experience:
- An understanding of the product development process and the role of Human Factors within that process.
- An appreciation of qualitative and quantitative human factors research methods, and the ability to tailor them to project needs
- The aptitude to translate research insights into relevant design and development directions
- Contextual and controlled fieldwork
- Facilitation of interviews and workshops with users and consumers
- The ability to present information creatively, both verbally and visually
- The use of video capture and editing to communicate findings
- Have a high level of empathy, and great interpersonal skills
- Self-reliant and take responsibility for your work
- Additional foreign languages are an advantage
