An aerospace technology design and manufacturing organisation have an opportunity from a graduate calibre professional with some purchasing experience and desire to develop a full procurement career to join the business as graduate trainee buyer based in Fareham.
As part of a well established procurement function this role will have the opportunity to gain exposure to both direct and indirect material and services spend management and the specific highly specified aerospace electronics and electro mech manufacturing procurement process requirements and have a defined career development opportunity.
This is a first class opportunity which will allow career development with direct help from the procurement management and the existing tactical and strategic procurement functions.
Salary - £20000 - £26000 + benefits package + immeasurable training and development at a hands on level potential CIPS sponsorship
Location – Fareham
For this position candidates are required to have the following minimum experience:
- Preferably degree qualified in a business or technical discipline
- 1-2 or more years technical engineering / manufacturing purchasing / procurement experience
- Commercial experience with and purchasing / procurement function
- Knowledge and understanding of basic purchasing / procurement principals
- Ideally commercial experience in a technical engineering / manufacturing environment
- Strong IT skills within microsoft packages and ability yo adapt to new systems
And will lead:
- Day to day tactical purchase order raising and management of the business MRP systems
- cost and supplier analysis and report writing
- Building strong internal customer relationships and improving the procurement service the receive
- Managing strategic relationships with key supply partners
- Ensuring the provision of goods and services to schedule, quality and cost
- Achieving cost saving targets
- Supporting the negotiations of sub contracts.
- Supplier sourcing and development
- Contributing to generating strategy and delivering it
