About the Exciting role with this central and progressive organisation which is the focal point for producers of the Alcoholic drinks industry and market within Europe and the UK.
We will be launching a new website in 2010 and we have an opportunity for a SEO marketer with excellent communication skills and a working knowledge of websites to manage this exciting new project and join our happy close knit team.
The successful candidate will also have responsibility for launching the new website and will manage the process working with our external web developers so knowledge of development with LAMP is key.
- You will also maintain our website, which is a content management system,
- run e-marketing campaigns as well as contributing to marketing campaigns and getting involved with some of our key events.
The Marketing Department is responsible for:
- the marketing, publicity and media relations for all activities at a national level
- enhancing the profile and reputation of and promoting good quality real ale and pubs
- advising and helping branches with their own publicity
Key initiatives include the marketing of membership, national festivals and events, merchandise and books; and other marketing-led initiatives.
Additionally the department provides advice and assistance on communications and promotional issues to a number of key decision-making committees.
There is currently a small marketing team; management is friendly and informal in a busy environment. Each team member deputises for colleagues in their absence and duties therefore are varied and interesting.
This position represents an excellent opportunity for a marketer with a couple of years' experience to extend their online and marketing expertise in a busy and successful not-for-profit organisation. We offer the opportunity to attend training courses to extend your expertise in web and e-marketing development. Please note this is not a position for experienced programmers or developers.
Occasional travel to meetings and events in the UK will be required. offices are located approximately two miles from the centre of St Albans and about one mile from the central station with links to Kings Cross and Bedford.
Purpose of the job
- To manage the development and content of national website so that it becomes the first port of call for those seeking information on CAMRA, real ale, pubs and beer festivals.
- To manage the launch of new website in the first half of 2010 working with the external developers as well as staff and lead volunteers to ensure a successful new website.
- To keep all areas of the website up to date and provide new features and areas as necessary.
- To produce e-marketing campaigns to promote awareness of campaigns and to market books, merchandise and membership.
- To provide support for, and attend key events including the Great British Beer Festival and food and drink exhibitions.
Key responsibilities
- To be responsible for the day-to-day management of national website ensuring that the content is interesting and up to date, of good quality and presented in a consistent way.
- To launch new national website in the first half of 2010, liaising with staff and the appropriate committees and volunteers, and our external developers.
- To keep abreast of innovations in website design and functionality.
- To supervise hosting and maintenance companies and work closely with them to ensure that the website is fully functional, operates properly and that any problems are addressed immediately.
- To develop e-marketing and direct marketing campaigns to both active and inactive members, including improving the appearance and functionality of e-mailouts.
- To help improve the way that communicates about itself to both members and non members including contributing to any campaigning reports.
- To contribute to marketing campaigns and promote our campaigns, books and merchandise.
- To provide support for a number of key events including the Great British Beer Festival, the Awards lunch and other food and drinks exhibitions.
- To undertake any other duties within the scope of the post as directed by the Marketing Manager.
