Junior Designer

Junior Designer.  Printing Company.  Luton.  £18k basic.  Full Time Permanent role

A stunning opportunity for a junior designer with at least 1yrs previous design experience to join the design team of a very dynamic and entrepreneurial print company based in Luton.

All applicant will need to provide examples of work they have created.  This is an excellent opportunity which will allow for a good level of career advancement in time.

Designing

• Creative design using Adobe Creative Suite: PhotoShop, InDesign & Illustrator - PC/ Windows OS
• Various types of design-for-print jobs based on briefs provided using creative thinking and initiative
• Web design, email design, project managing website build (coding is not required) & content management
• Corporate ID development, logo design and creating brand guidelines
• Generate ideas to help clients meet their objectives
• Magazine & newspaper advertisement design & setting
• Typesetting, copy typing, layout
• Image editing

Printing & Finishing

• Printing of proofs
• Print work if required using in-house digital equipment (training will be provided)
• Finishing undertaken when requested (training will be provided)
• Understand printing processes and how this may impact on design/ creative
• Quality control/checking print accuracy

Client Liaison

• Be friendly, helpful and  build rapport with clients
• Taking a consultative approach with clients, understanding their needs and providing professional help
• Email proofs/process amendments with clients
• Suggest alternatives/better ways to achieve solutions
• Have a 'can do’ attitude to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

 General

• Answering telephones &  re-directing of incoming enquiries
• Interact with design, production & sales team
• Quote jobs from pricelist
• Deal with basic print customer enquiries
• Be a team player and help give our customers the highest level of service.
