Job Title:  IT Support Technician

Location:  Potters Bar, Hertfordshire

Salary:  £20,000 to £25,000 p/a

Contract: Permanent - Full time (Mon to Fri 9am to 5.30pm

A Challenging new opportunity has become available within this fast expanding organisation based in Potters Bar.

Our client are a forward thinking, professional run organisation who are keen to find an experienced IT Support Technician to join their expanding in-house IT Department. They are seeking a professional individual who is passionate about the IT Sector and has the abilities to provide both 1st and 2nd line support, to a range of in-house departments.

The successful candidate for this role must be confident and have excellent interpersonal skills, to ensure both a professional and efficient service is provided at all times.

Duties will include:

  • Day to day support to approximately 80 in-house users
  • Documentation of support procedures
  • Management of active directory (users, distribution and security)
  • User administration
  • set up, installation of maintenance of computer hardware and software
  • Support users of their in-house support systems
  • Liaise with third party vendors, suppliers and developers
  • Support of Microsoft office products
  • Trouble shooting and resolution of hardware and software issues
  • Deployment of bespoke applications, in addition to standard windows office suite

 Required Skills:

  • Microsoft, Cisco, or Comptia vendor's qualification
  • Anti-virus systems
  • Good knowledge of virus operating systems (XP, Vista, Windows 7)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office products
  • Active directory and DNS
  • Printer set up and trouble shooting
  • Basic system administration of windows servers

 Desired Skills:

  • College diploma or Degree
  • Server 2003/2008 administration
  • SQL Server 2008 administration
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP routing and switching
  • Exchange 2010Remote Access set-up and trouble shooting
  • Antivirus systems
