IT Support Team Leader or Manager

Up to £40K

We are a young rapidly expanding software development company producing innovative financial management software for the education sector.  To support our continuing growth we are looking for an experienced IT Support Team Leader to manage a well established team of 6 support specialists. 

We are looking for someone to be responsible for the management of the helpdesk on a day to day basis, this will be a hands-on senior technical role and will include the following : 

  • Assist and manage the team providing day to day IT support
  • Set and monitor departmental support objectives
  • Manage technical escalation
  • Resource management - including providing constructive feedback, coaching and support for the team
  • Regular liaison with other areas of the business (development and technical support) to ensure issues are dealt with in a timely fashion

Successful Candidates will have a minimum of 5 years solid commercial IT experience gained in a support environment, at least 2 years should have been in a team leader or managerial position experience should be  backed by relevant formal qualifications,.  You must also be able to demonstrate strong trouble shooting skills and a rational approach to problem management.  Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite as is the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Technical experience should include Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, SQL Databases and a general knowledge of networks.

This role is based in Eastleigh , Hampshire, close to both train and bus stations, the M3 and M27 motorways are easily accessible thus providing excellent transport links across the South of England.

Occasional travel may be required to customer sites in the UK.
