IT Support Engineer - 2nd Line Support

Role: IT Support Engineer 2nd / 3rd Line
Location: Bedford / Sandy / Stevenage / St. Neots / A1(M)
Benefits: Basic c£25,000 - £30,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

Our client is a highly successful B2B IT & Telecoms company. The company has been trading for 20 years and have built a very loyal client base. The company is growing and has an excellent story to tell. As part of their expansion plan, they now seek a 2nd /3rd Line IT Support Engineer to join the team.

This is an office based position (location Sandy) on a busy IT Help Desk dealing with escalations and 2nd / 3rd Line Support. Duties will be varied and will include assisting with hardware and software & network support, and participating in activities related to implementation and rollout for new services, upgrades and configurations.
You will need the confidence to deal with a variety of IT related enquiries as second and third line support and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the latest IT developments. You need to be customer-focused, a reliable team player and enjoy working in a support environment. There will be occasional site visits so a full driving license is essential.

The position requires experience of Windows Desktop and Server operating systems, recent versions of Microsoft Office and Exchange Server. The role requires a good technical knowledge of IT equipment/ Microsoft software. You will have a relevant IT qualification, the ability to use initiative to rapidly resolve problems and the flexibility to adapt to changes in demands are also necessary. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
You will provide a high quality IT set up and support service to the company's customers. This will involve maintaining, checking and installing equipment such as; laptops, desktop, servers, printers and other IT equipment.

Prepared to work outside normal office hours, including weekends
Able to lift heavy/bulky equipment and assist with cabling in cramped environment
Full Driving Licence
