My client is looking for an IT Infrastructure Support Analyst to fulfil a six-month fixed contract providing support and service delivery of systems (infrastructure, EPoS and EPoS back office) based in Germany. The purpose of this role is to provide IT support in accordance with corporate IT systems and solutions, to provide hands-on technical operation on systems and infrastructure within the corporate infrastructure estate, and to act as the primary provider within locations for service and support, system operation and on-going system needs as part of the central IT Service Delivery team and IT Department. The individual will be required to work with the IT teams in the delivery of systems and services as required including central office and field based locations, and under general direction, to perform a variety of technical duties in providing information systems and technology support. They will administer, support and maintain operating stability and efficiency, ensuring the security of the client's production systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be expected, as are all employees, to operate within the client's behaviour framework, policies and procedures and to support and uphold the Company's values.
The role will include such responsibilities such as:-
* Operation and support of infrastructure services
* Documentation and implementation of new services for Desktop, server, LAN/WAN, Network Operating systems and telephony
* Call logging and execution including call history updates and closures
* Provision of desktop support either remotely, by phone or in person in areas such as email, directories/folders, desktop applications and project-specific applications
* Support and operation of systems and infrastructure within agreed timeframes and availability to address any business critical issues
* Auditing, analysis and monitoring of all infrastructure technology
* Provision of support and input into other IT teams/business projects as required
* 1st and 2nd line technical support and service management of the IP structure, WAN/LAN (hardware and software), Desktops, Servers, peripheral devices, Intranet, Internet, Proxy Server, Firewalls, Security, Citric and all voice systems (telephony)
* Routine network maintenance and assistance with network security
* Implementation of troubleshooting procedures for hardware, software, peripherals and communications
* Perform and manage the data backup strategies including transportation of the media to/from off-site locations on a daily basis
* Monitor and maintain system performance and where relevant, to recommend new architectures to improve performance, reliability and security
* Creating, updating, and deleting user profiles
* Maintaining effective anti-virus software protection
* Providing support and/or advice with regard to Data Protection and the security of all server OS and application and other IS legalisation
The candidate must be able to demonstrate:-
Qualification to MCP level
Knowledge of desktop and server support
Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications
Good customer service skills
The ability to work effectively within a team
Excellent communication skills at all levels
Strong time management and personal effectiveness
It would be a strong advantage if the candidate could also offer:-
Technical knowledge of a Citrix environment
Active Directory
Backup and recovery procedures
Anti-virus technologies and deployment methods
EPoS technology and processes
Due to the travel involved in this role, it is absolutely essential that the candidate has held a full driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.
