Our client seeks a Qualified Actuary to lead the International Actuarial Operations Analysis and Reporting team to deliver the actuarial elements of MCEV, IFRS and Regulatory reporting and be responsible for supporting the accuracy and subsequent analysis of financial information submitted including that from other operations.
Based in Surrey, but travel between group sites in the UK and abroad when necessary.
Job Description
• Be the key point of day-to day contact with regard to results production taking ownership of supporting the business unit to deliver the results and help the directors and their teams in the day to day understanding of their financial results and the linkage to the group’s results.
• Own and manage the relationship with the auditors and group function to ensure appropriate sign off is received.
• Lead on International technical Issues liaising with Group Technical experts and feeding in/attending technical committees both internally and externally.
• Proactively liaise with teams across the business to build an understanding of the financial results attending senior management team meetings in International where required as a subject matter expert to secure buy-in and understanding.
• Lead the investigations into experience variances engaging with business and finance teams.
• Own the implementation of process improvements and additional controls.
• Ensure the smooth implementation of Solvency 2 and other Finance led projects.
Person Specification
• Qualified actuary with post qualification experience.
• Experience of preparation of reports, analysis and commentary suitable for presentation at senior management and board level.
• Good knowledge and experience of producing IFRS and UK GAAP Consolidation and Life Assurance accounting.
• Good general experience of the insurance environment, regulatory framework (FSA), solvency measures and actuarial principles and practices, especially MCEV.
• Good verbal and written communication and experience of producing.
• Good experience of monitoring and improving controls and processes.
• Experience of working with external and internal stakeholders.
