Intermediate Software Developer

Our client is seeking an innovative and creative Intermediate Software Engineer who is ready for the challenges, responsibilities, and rewards that come with working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related engineering discipline, at least at grade 2:1 or equivalent working experience

Key Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, test and integrate tools and modules into our award winning, industry pioneering software suite.
• To take an active role in software engineering projects, including requirements gathering, high and low level design, implementation and testing.
• Working for the Customisations team delivering customised/bespoke solutions for our customers
• Interacting directly with customers by phone, WebEx or face-to-face meetings if required

Required skills/experience: 

• Highly proficient in Perl and/or Java
• Highly proficient with relational database concepts and practices
• Highly proficient with OOD/OOP concepts and practices
• Customer and Commercial awareness
• Flexibility, dedication and self-motivation

Beneficial skills/experience:

• Experience on Linux highly beneficial
• Experience with C++ highly beneficial
• Experience with Tomcat/Apache
• Experience with AJAX and CSS
• Experience with MySQL
