Interior Systems/ Components Project Engineer

Pay Year: Upto £40,000.00

Location South East - Surrey

Interior Systems/ Components Project Engineer - A World leading motorsport manufacturer is looking for permanent staff to grow their current team and knowledge base. You will be working on a highly prestigious vehicle range and will be responsible for the delivery of Interior components and systems from concept to production.

Principal Accountabilities:

• You will manage a cross functional team of Designers, Buyers and external / internal Engineers and Specialists. You will be responsible for technical performance, weight, cost price, investment, quality and timing of components.
• Work closely with other function groups to evaluate and support activities which affect delivery of the interior modules
• Support Vehicle/Module/component testing and evalute results to achieve performance targets and legal requirements
• Support prototype and production build activities
• Create and maintain timing plans, test plans, gap and flush plans and BoMs
• Release designs and drawings for prototype and production phases

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Mechanical or Automotive Engineering degree 2:1 or above
• Interior systems engineering experience.
• Robust OEM or tier #1 component delivery
• Management of component delivery within an APQP or six sigma or similar framework (inc FMEA, comp planning, PPAP)
• Proven leadership of an engineering team.
• Understanding of Automotive legislation
• Experience of low volume (less than 5,000 units per annum)
• Application of light weight materials.
• Interfacing with styling and colour and trim departments.
• Interior facia design and engineering.
• Catia V5 working knowledge
• Chartered Engineer
• APQP or Six Sigma
• PRINCE or similar project management qualifications
