Insurance Underwriter - Motor

SRGEurope are seeking to recruit an experienced Underwriter for an up and coming Motor Insurer based in Gibraltar. The Motor Underwriter must have a pro-active attitude, strong team work and communication skills, the ideal Underwriter will also have knowledge of reinsurance and have knowledge of the local Gibraltar FSC standards. The Underwriter will need to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the Motor sector with in excess of 5 years relevant experience, ideally spanning other European countries including Switzerland, Germany and France. Salary offered will depend on experience.

Motor Underwriter Responsibilities:

• To contribute to the development of profitable motor insurance products
• Identify and be able to underwrite for reinsurance opportunities
• Assist with the development of the Company's software programme
• Add value to the marketing, advertising and distribution strategies
• Be responsible for the administration and processing of accurate data
• Application of best practice processes to improve efficiency and service
• Control of the calculation of quotations
• Manage on a daily basis all work flows both internal and external vendor related
• Comply with all regulatory and internal systems controls and procedures

Motor Underwriter Requirements:

• CII qualification ideal but not essential
• College level Degree is preferred
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience within the Motor underwriting field
• Knowledge of FSC standards governing the sector
• Experience of working in other European Countries preferable
• Good level of IT skills, Word Excel and Underwriting systems
• Multi tasking abilities and confident in working style
• A confidential individual
• Enjoys working in a Team orientated work environment
