Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Services Team Leader ( Instrument and Systems Technician ) to join their team based in Stevenage. The successful candidate will be maintaining plant, systems and equipment in to meet the R&D business requirements. Carrying out engineering services in compliance with current legislative and environmental regulations, policies and procedures. Complying with risk assessments, method statements, safety programmes and procedure. Deputising for the Supervisor / Technician during periods of absence The Role of the Technical Services Team Leader ( Instrument and Systems Technician ): To provide a comprehensive, practical control / instrumentation & BMS service to the Research Company departments, in accordance with Company, GMP, GLP, Local Rules and statutory requirements. To ensure maximum availability of BMS controlled building services. Arrange planned maintenance, calibration and fault resolution. To provide comprehensive technical support for project, commissioning and hand-over works.. To advise and mentor area teams on matters of BMS critical services. Maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, calibration of instrumentation, containment devices, refrigeration systems and building management control systems Ensure that work is carried out on time, to the correct standard and in accordance with pre planned or reactive work instructions or project work. Ensure that customers are aware of engineering work in their area. Adhere to the maintenance and or calibration review programme. Raise a Business Adverse Event Form when an adverse situation that could impact on quality. Report system defects and faults in compliance with site or area rules or emergency reporting system Reconcile faults and or defects in accordance with relevant procedures. Ensure that only approved lubricants are used during servicing and maintenance of equipment. Ensure that only approved spare parts are used by personnel and visiting service providers when servicing and maintaining equipment Inform line manager if a MaCC needs to be raised when regulatory or statutory change is experienced. Review and revise drawings and / or schematics in accordance with current procedure. Responsible for upkeep and review of personal training record at least annually Adhere to risk assessments and associated instructions to ensure that hazards are addressed and risk control measures are fully complied with. Adhere to all safety standards i.e. risk assessment control measures and method statements or work instructions to ensure that work is safely carried out, COSHH Assessments when using hazardous substances, manual handling assessments when lifting heavy goods. Ensure that high risk work is carried out in accordance with agreed safety programme, method statement or work instruction and Permits to Work (PTW), when initiated. Safe use of all test equipment, machinery, tools, access and lifting equipment Responsible for hosting and monitoring visiting contractors Attend site inspections in accordance with programme and report hazards and associated risk. Safety representative for on-site based engineering personnel Immediately report any injury or near miss experienced during the course of carrying out work. Promote continuous systems improvements and good practice.
