Introduction:
Our client, located in Lichfield, Staffordshire has a requirement for a Installation/Service Engineer to take responsibility for the maintenance, repair and installation of metrology equipment. You will be required to travel around different sites in the UK and Ireland visiting a wide variety of customers to carry out a wide variety of tasks.

It is essential for this role that you hold a Full UK Driving Licence as you will be required to travel around in the company vehicle that you will be provided.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) and has previously worked within a similar role.

Responsibilities:
- Liaison with customers on site; install, commission and service a range of products supplied by the company.
- Identify electrical and mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
- You will be required to carry out the installation of laser measuring equipment and probes.
- Install new components to ensure that machinery is working as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Provide accurate service documentation for site visits, maintain and manage stock and tool levels.
- Maintain regular contact with the office, aiming to ensure that proper and effective planning of engineer activities can be achieved as well as support and provide technical advice to other service engineers when required.
- Please note you must have a flexible approach to working and traveling around the UK and Ireland, some jobs may require overnight stays.
- Advise customers on best possible solutions to ensure that machinery and equipment is working to the best of its ability.
- This role does involve a variety of electrical controls and you will be familiar with CNC programming.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintain an awareness of company Quality Assurance requirements.
- Take a positive and proactive approach to the promotion of all aspects of the company.

Applicant Requirements:
- It is essential for this role that you have a strong multi-skilled engineering background.
- Strong technical background.
- Ability to fault find and read electrical wiring diagrams.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Sound communicator.
- Excellent fault finding skills.
- Enjoy problem solving.
- Able to work and remain calm under pressure.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems.

Benefits:
- Salary Negotiable depending on experience.
- Monday - Friday between 9.00am - 5pm.

- Time off in lieu when working away, accommodation will be paid for by the client (£15 per day allowance when at client sites).
