Inhouse Motor Engineer

Applications must be experienced in assessing damage and repairs estimates to all types motor vehicles, preferably in relation to motor insurance claims. The ideal person will have previous experience as an insurance motor engineer assessor and / or vehicle body repair including damage estimating, repair cost negotiation and vehicle valuation. We are looking for someone with excellent communication We currently have an opportunity for an office based desktop motor engineer assessor in out Newcastle claims department where working a? hour week, Monday to Friday, you will use a variety of sources, from written reports, data, computerised vehicle damage estimating system and digital imaging in the assessment of vehicle damage and loss claims.

The role

• Provide outstanding services to customer and motor claims department
• Undertake remote vehicle inspections to assess negotiate and settle Total Loss vehicle damage claims in a timely and cost effective manner, liaising with vehicle repairers, salvage agents and customers.
• Use technical knowledge and expertise to deliver outstanding claims cost control in line with agreed company procedures/industry standards
• Interact with, support and provide technical expertise to Vehicle Claims Management, Motor Claims Underwriting Teams
• Maximise own, department and company efficiency and productivity including proactively identifying opportunities to improve technical skills, cost control and customer service
• Interact with our Third Party Intervention team and utilise our new I.A.D (inspection Allocation Department) to provide fast track TP Claims settlements.
• Maintain and develop own motor vehicle and insurance industry knowledge and skills to the highest standards

The ideal person will have previous experience as an insurance motor engineer assessor and  or vehicle body repair including damage estimating, repair cost negotiation and vehicle valuation. It is also an essential criteria that the successful candidate is very customer focused with excellent communication skills.
