INDIRECT COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

LOCATION: SWINDON

A subsidiary company of a large, global holding group, this world leading specialist marketing agency is seeking an Indirect Comms Manager to be deployed client side, acting as an ambassador for the agency at all times.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • To liaise and manage the clients Web Operations team, Sales Centres and internal business unit stakeholder contacts to deliver web communications as part of an overall marketing plan.
  • To work with the Programme Manager and Copy Editor to manage, plan and implement web communications strategy to an IT Reseller Programme audience (under direction from the Programme Director).
  • Ensuring that the creative, production and translation teams are briefed in detail and accurately and in a timely manner. Owning implementation management using the various tools and documentation available giving visibility to both the company and client stakeholders as required.
  • Supporting the Programme Manager with their role; liaising with product business unit teams and internal stakeholders to ensure that the implementation of these is efficient - delivering on time and to client budget.
  • To liaise with the client Business Owner and internal stakeholders to co-ordinate the receipt of training materials that can be delivered through all communication channels. Working with the wider team in particular the Copy Editor and Account Managers to manage, plan, implement and produce materials for the IT reseller audience (under direction for the Programme Director).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Retain good working relationship with client and client stakeholders on a day to day basis with support of the programme
  • Working with the wider agency Client Services team (in both London and Swindon) to develop, plan and implement web communication strategy - communicating effectively and working with the Account Directors, Programme Manager, Copy Editor and Project Leads
  • Owning the agency relationship with the client Web Operations team
  • Owning the agency relationship with 3rd party suppliers as required; e.g. sales centre operations and translations agencies via Web Operations teams as required
  • Delegating to the agency London-based account executive team where required and managing the workload of these shared resources with other team managers
  • Demonstrate proactivity, tenacity and drive to ensure client and project goals are achieved
  • Utilising online web publishing production tools to brief the web production team and to indicate what type of content is most suitable for which audience segments
  • Quality checking web production
  • Pro-actively review processes and implement improvements on a continual basis where necessary with assistance from the Programme Director
  • Proactively work with the agency team to proactively generate new ideas for web communications enhancements
  • Understand how the web communications strategy integrates with the over-arching communications strategy and input as required to wider planning discussions
  • Managing scope of work to a quarterly budget and indicating to the Project Lead when budgets need to be re-negotiated - in terms of delivery within a quarter or developing new requirements 
  • Select data management and reporting requirement for web communications and other agency projects

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Developing, planning and implementing elements of communication programmes
  • Highly organised and ability to project manage effectively and independently in a fast paced environment

  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills at all levels
  • Strong budget and financial control
  • 2+ years working in a marketing agency/department environment
  • Applied experience of digital marketing especially website marketing across multiple countries and in multiple languages preferably within the IT industry although transferable skills are more important than industry experience
  • Graduate (ideally business or marketing related) or professional marketing qualifications
  • Analytical - competent understanding of the dependency of data within marketing programmes, and understanding of best practices for working with and analysing data to derive business insight and develop marcoms plans using this knowledge
  • Proven project leadership skills through structured project management
  • Strong financial management using an integrated job management / finance system
