This is a new post within the Tax Team designed to be the link between statutory compliance reporting and strategic implementation of the organisation's tax strategy.
As a result, the role of In House Assistant Tax Manager includes a mixture of process involvement and review work linked with development, strategic tax thinking and reporting.
You will be an integral part of the Tax Team with a mix of responsibilities across all taxes, initially predominantly corporation
and employment taxes but also including VAT.
The role of Assistant Tax Manager will include dealing with the most basic of queries through to complex tax project work and contract reviews.
The tax team also advise on a very wide range of projects, from small refurbishments to major capital investments, joint ventures and collaborations and international projects.
The role will include aspects of all taxes managed within the Tax Team and will include a range of tasks:
Managing the compliance and statutory tax return filing obligations;
Preparing the annual CTSA return;
Drafting tax provisions for the organisations statutory accounts and subsidiaries at audit, including deferred tax provisions;
Supporting senior tax managers on employment taxes for UK and overseas staff and contracts.
Supporting both Senior Managers (Corporate and VAT) on input to a range of tax projects.
You will be a tax technically competent person, and preferably be training or qualified in tax or accounting, but with the appropriate knowledge to be effective in the role.
