As an experienced hands-on HR generalist, you will possess an excellent background in all aspects of HR, with a proven track record of handling employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, redundancy consultation sickness absence management and performance management.
Advising and supporting our Directors and Managers, ensuring all HR implications are discussed and complied with. Ideally you will have gained an excellent understanding of merger and acquisition activity to help assist with the company’s business plans.
Key Accountabilities
- Support and advice to Directors and managers regarding any HR implications of business plans.
- Advice and handling of employee relations issues including employee grievances and appeals.
- Advise and support managers throughout disciplinary and performance management processes.
- Proactively liaise with line managers regarding issues with employee attendance and sickness.
- Advise and support managers throughout redundancy consultation process (both collective and individual processes).
- Support of business integration activities related to merger and acquisition activity and TUPE transfers.
- Ensure HR policies and processes, employment contracts and associated documentation are regularly reviewed to meet best practice and current legal obligations.
- Oversee day-to-day HR processes to ensure that all contracts, commission schemes, bonuses, witness statements or other documents requiring an employee’s signature, are checked for accuracy.
- Ad hoc HR project involvement.
- Act as a point of escalation for non-standard HR queries received by other team members.
- To provide cover for other absences in the team as and when required.
- Travel to other QA sites as required.
Experience & Qualifications Required
- Minimum three years experience of working within a generalist operational HR role with at least one year’s experience of working at an HR Officer level.
- CIPD Professional qualification preferred.
- Experience of handling all employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, redundancy consultation and TUPE.
- Experience of working closely with managers at all levels.
- Proven success in demonstrating a process focused approach to working, with exceptional standards of attention to detail in all written and verbal communications.
- Experience of writing and working with detailed processes and procedures.
- Experience of performance management within a sales environment is desirable.
- Excellent employment law knowledge, in particular, in relation to TUPE and employee rights.
- Results orientated with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality necessary for handling sensitive employment issues.
- Ability to think ahead and to work to deadlines.
- Strong risk management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and judgement skills.
- Can work equally well alone or as part of a team.
