The ideal candidate will be assisting the HR Manager in providing a high quality, HR service that meets customer needs. To provide first line HR support and advice on Policy and Procedures
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide expert and professional advice on Human Resources issues, and support managers where appropriate on disciplinary, grievance and all recruitment issues.
- To advise and support managers on the management of sickness cases in accordance with absence management policies and the Disability Discrimination Law.
- To assist with undertaking various project work and policy development work. Keeping abreast of developments in employment legislation and case law to ensure full compliance at all times.
- To manage the HR administration of starters and leavers and contractual changes including the preparation of contractual documentation and payroll documentation. To undertake inductions and provide advice to employees and managers on conditions of service issues (for example, maternity leave, statutory arrangements).
- To comply and promote all policies and relevant legislation, with particular reference to Health & Safety, Equality and Diversity and the Data Protection Act.Screens applicants for compliance with position qualifications, summarises CVs for easier evaluation by the recruiting manager.
- Interview candidates up to supervisor level and provide feedback to both HR Manager and Line Manager.
- Ensure all recruitment policies, procedures and techniques are adhered to and recommend improvements.
- Assist with the security vetting and screening process, ensuring that we remain compliant to the industry standard (BS 7858).
- Ensuring that we meet our internal and external recruitment and vetting audit requirements. Making recommendations for improvements.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
- The successful candidate must have a proven administrative background.
- Interviewing experience
- Highly organised
- Understanding of employment law and experience of applying in a workplace
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to get along with others and demonstrate team skills
- Computer Literate
- Ability to work in a pressurised environment
- Being able to take ownership
- Work within process and procedures
