Organisation Description

Reed Further Education is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic Cleaning and Housekeeping, Trainer-Assessor to join a leading hospitality training provider.

Nationally focussed, our client’s teams of award–winning trainers and assessors are based throughout England and we have links with other training providers in the rest of the UK.
You will support, assess and train approximately 45 ’learners’. These learners will be hospitality staff working in the industry and working with the training provider to obtain their NVQ professional qualification, funded by governmental skills programmes.

Job Description

Principle duties:
To undertake NVQ assessments and ensure that all assessment meets the awarding body requirements
To deliver, supervise and mark learning activities with learners on a 1:1 basis
To support their case load of learners to achieve the NVQ qualification within prescribed time scales
To obtain the necessary A1 Assessor Qualification within 6 months (if you do not have one already)
To go on frequent visits to learners within their work place and provide information, advice and guidance
Maintain a case load of learners, replacing those who complete their qualification
To engage other eligible employees and undertake sales activities to recruit new learners
To promote the training provider by attending industry events, careers exhibitions and presentations
To travel within the area as necessary, with the option of a company van after successful completion of the probationary period

Person Specification

Requirements:
Relevant training and coaching qualifications to include D32/ D33/ D34 and or A1/ V1
A minimum of 2 years (although 3 years is desirable) experience in a supervisory role in a relevant occupational sector
The ability to deliver Level 3 Supervisory qualifications
Recent experience (within the last 3 years) within the hospitality industry
Experience of working to support development in an occupational context
Proven track record of effective time management
Experience of working with delivery targets
Computer literacy, good written and oral skills and knowledge of the local business area
Knowledge and skills relating to coaching, group training, verification of learning
Experience of working with databases and undertaking assessment
Good communicator, confident, able to work on our initiative, stable under pressure
Desire to develop area business and promote work based learning
