Household Pricing Analyst

Highly respected Home insurance company seeks a talented Pricing Analyst to work from its office in Bradford.

This company has a fine reputation for its high quality insurance products and boasts an enviable client base throughout the UK.

Reporting directly to the Head of Underwriting, you will agree, develop and execute a pricing strategy for the company’s Household insurance product that will continue to contribute to the profitable development and planned financial results of the business. You will have responsibility for areas including pricing optimisation, recommendations and impact analysis, as well as continually monitoring underwriting performance. You will source, manipulate and explore potential new rating factors, interpreting and analysing MI and claims performance. A key part of your role will include competitor analysis, which will allow you to devise unique pricing models and take advantage of gaps in the market.

It is essential that you have previous Household insurance pricing experience, together with well honed data analysis skills, and strong commercial acumen. A high level of numeracy is required, together with an excellent problem solving ability. It is also essential that you have a good understanding of modern pricing and statistical modelling techniques. The role requires excellent IT technical skills in turning data into information through manipulation and analysis. As such, the ability to adopt and use various specialist software packages is very important. Knowledge of packages including Access or SAS, as well as statistical and premium analysis software such as EMBLEM, Rate Assessor, Premium Insight and What-if, would be beneficial.
