An experienced Health & Safety Officer with experience of manufacturing/assembly to plan the implementation and continuous improvement of Health and Safety policies, procedures and work instructions designed to meet legal compliance and international 18001 standards. Candidates will also need to be educated to HNC or equivalent and be NEBOSH certified as a minimum. This requirement is required due to further expansion at the clients site
Specialised Knowledge & Skills
Manufacturing experience with knowledge of machinery, process and engineering principles

Responsibilities
Maintain and develop the OH&S 18001 management system, ensuring compliance with the standard. Arrange and support the audit process including the annual re-qualification audit.
Assist in the setting and achievement of health and safety objectives
Advise the management team on all health and safety related issues including legal requirements
Co-ordinate and where appropriate deliver safety training including Induction and manual handling
Maintain accident and incident information, analyse data, report to management and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken
Conduct accident and incident investigations as necessary
Ensure robust risk assessments are in place and maintained in all work areas.
Co-ordinate the fire and emergency process.
Organise and facilitate the health and safety committee meetings.
Liaise both internally and externally with managers, employees, suppliers and statutory bodies.
Support the investigation and progression of health related insurance claims.
Support HR and managers on health related work adjustments for employees.
Ensure compliance in all safety related certification, registers and statutory inspections including lifting equipment, fork lift drivers, first aid requirements, permits to work.
Assist in the promotion of a positive safety culture.
Undertake HNC discipline or above and NEBOSH Certificate as minimum.
Independent working with minimum supervision and be able to stop an unsafe act or process.
