Health and Safety Consultants
We are currently looking for Health & Safety Consultants for a 10 month project to carry out a statutory compliance review of our clients asset register across each site within their national portfolio.
Job Description
Consultants will be required to:
- Carry out an asset register verification assessment on properties within the client’s portfolio and identify assets which require Thorough Examination and Tests, Inspections or Maintenance under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated regulations.
- Identify if the associated certification and any identified remedial work is present and completed for each asset, such that it meets Health and Safety statutory and mandatory requirements.
- Accurately highlight any shortfalls in compliance and provide a suitable action plan to rectify any non-conformances identified.
- Populate an up to date asset register spreadsheet for each premises and provide this to an administration support team for update into an asset register data base.
- Engage with all stakeholders associated with this project and act as a source of technical expertise and advice required to meet statutory compliance.
Experience and Skills
- Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years H&S Experience as a sound knowledge and understanding of The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and its associated regulations is an absolute requirement for this role.
- Experience within the Facilities Management sector is preferred. Applicants should have background knowledge to asset management and associated Thorough Examination and Test, Inspections and Planned Preventative Maintenance work required for standard building assets.
- Health and Safety auditing and consultancy skills and experience required.
- Applicants must have the knowledge and ability to use computers and related software such as Microsoft Office efficiently. Use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word are essential.
- Must be willing to travel nationally, although attempts will be made to limit travel within specific regions.
Qualifications
Formal qualification in Health and Safety at Work including either:
- NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent)
- BSc Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
- Other approved specialist qualification.
- Full UK driving licence
Professional Bodies
Membership of one of the following bodies is preferred:
- CMIOSH or working towards with Grad IOSH.
- CMCIEH/CFCIEH or working towards with GradCIEH or above
- MIIRSM
