Tarmac Building Products is the UK's largest supplier of heavy building products.  We aim to be the number one supplier of products for all of our customer's projects, providing solutions for the built environment.  We've been involved in a wide variety of construction projects including Wembley Stadium, Emirates Stadium and St Pancras Station.

Who we are looking for:

Leading, managing & developing a team of 3 procurement professionals, ensuring clear objectives, accountabilities and measurement against targets

Ensure procurement category and contract management is efficient and effective, increasing procurement`s perception as a key commercial partner Leading strategy, policy and direction creation

Design & implementation of innovative procurement processes, policies and solutions
Ensuring departmental contribution to group savings initiatives are realised (c.£2.4m commitment for delivery in 2012), whilst maintaining & improving quality of services and goods

Identification of pertinent new suppliers to ensure continued best-in-market service provision

Ensure legally sound and commercially robust contracts in place and adhered to

Develop, maintain & manage credible & beneficial stakeholder relationships

Ensure procurement best-practice policy and industry regulatory requirements are adhered to

Analyse, develop and where relevant rationalise supply base, ensuring value, stability, performance and market competitiveness are maintained & improved. The jobholder will be responsible for ensuring the organisation remains competitive and well placed within a changing market through provision of best-in-class innovative procurement processes, policies, stakeholder engagement and external supplier relationship management. Undergoing a period of change in a difficult market, the jobholder will require tact and excellent relationship development and influencing skills to secure stakeholder support at all levels, develop and manage a team of procurement professionals and over-see a period of transition across the supply base, driving synergies and rationalisation programmes.
