My client are one of the UK's leading property insurance specialist, and comprises a number of individual businesses and brands which provide specialist products and services to the property industry.

They are now recruiting for a Head of Group Compliance to join them. Salary on offer is £65-75,000 Plus benefits.

If you have a compliance background with general insurance experience, this is a great opportunity to join a large, successful organisation. They are the largest provider of tenant references and rent guarantees in the UK and one of the biggest brokers to the social housing sector.

As the Head of Group Compliance, you will be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of effective best practices whilst managing the day-to-day operation of your team.

Leading the Group Compliance Function, you will ensure your team establishes written guidance on the implementation of standards, assess internal procedures and follow up any deficiencies. In addition, you will be the main point of contact for compliance queries. 

Whilst predominantly based at our client's office in Bordon, some travel to other offices may occasionally be required. 

Your key duties will include:

- co-ordinating regular and comprehensive compliance risk assessment and testing 
- advising management on all applicable rules and standards 
- providing regular reports
- overseeing the development of an effective compliance training programme

To be considered for this position, you must have:

- a background in general insurance 
- proven compliance experience 
- a sound understanding of procedural requirements, internal control standards, external legal and regulatory requirements

As the Head of Group Compliance, you must have excellent leadership skills with the ability to gain support, through pragmatic decision making, reasoned argument and professionalism. Well organised with a flexible approach, you must be able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
