Our client, The Kent County Council LASER Group, provides leading Energy Procurement and related services for the Public Sector. Buying energy for around 120 public bodies, equating to around £400million per year.
The group has been in existence for more than 20 years and has seen significant growth in recent years. Operating acclaimed flexible purchasing models and a range of comprehensive management services; they deliver cost avoidance solutions to the Group members.
To help develop further products and support growth the Group are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual.
Leading a team of Energy specialist Buyers and supporting administration team, you will be responsible for:
• Developing a range of procurement solutions for Group members primarily on a flexible basis
• Using and developing risk management models and tools
• Developing and implementing agreed purchasing strategies
• Overseeing the execution of purchases from the wholesale market
• Working closely with contracted suppliers to maximise performance
• Tendering in compliance with public sector rules
You will need:
• Experience in operating flexible procurement strategies, accessing wholesale markets across a range of indices
• A thorough knowledge of competitive and regulated elements of the energy markets
• Demonstrable inter-personal / leadership skills
• To be computer literate with excel skills to advanced level
• To be educated to degree level or equivalent
