Graduate/Trainee Metallurgist

This is an ideal first role within Metallurgy with a forward thinking industry leader.  An excellent opportunity to learn all aspects of metallurgy in a lab environment.  Some International travel may also be included in the role. This is a replacement role as the person currently occupying this positon has been promoted within the company.

Duties:

• Perform internal OES and combustion chemical analysis
• Administrate external testing
• Metallographic preparation
• Photomicrography
• Perform internal mechanical testing
• Corrosion testing
• General SEM operation
• Heat Treatment
• Sand Testing
• Administer calibration system
• Maintain laboratory equipment
• General Laboratory Duties

Requirements:

• Ideally educated at Degree stadard within metallurgy, materials teasting or similar
• A passion for metallurgy
• Full UK drivers licence
• Previous experience within a similar discipline would be a distinct advantage
• Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of business.
• Must be able to work alone and develop innovative solutions to problems.
• Must be happy to engage in all aspects of foundry work
• A willingness to travel would be a bonus.
• Must be competent in writing formal technical reports.
