Graduate Internship Philippines

This is a fantastic opportunity to intern abroad and gain unique work experience at a major multinational company in the Philippines. Even better than that you’ll get paid for it! Selected interns will be placed at a company based in the bustling capital city of Manila, which delivers business solutions to a wide variety of global corporations, including many major British companies. The company is looking for confident, well organised interns to be part of their language and communication team and help bridge the cultural and linguistic gap between the Philippines and the UK.

Your role will be to help staff improve their communication skills to deliver superior customer service to UK-based customers, while you gain fantastic work experience at a well-known international company! Your responsibilities will focus on efforts to encourage cross-cultural understanding and reduce the cultural gap between UK customers and the Manila-based team. Your tasks could include monitoring and supporting Filipino colleagues during customer interactions by phone and email, or conducting training programmes on UK language and culture. 

While working on the other side of the world might sound a little daunting, you will be supported by a line manager throughout internship and will 'buddy up’ with a local colleague who will help you settle in and make the most of your placement. Living just a few kilometres from the city centre, interns will be perfectly placed to explore Manila itself or travel further to any of the Philippines magnificent national parks or beaches. 

Your work will follow UK operational hours (8AM to 9PM), with interns working 9 hour shifts on 5 of the company’s 6 day working week.

Earning and Benefits:The selected interns will be provided with a short term employment contract and earn the equivalent of  £840 per month. Interns will have the use of a shared company provided serviced apartment and also receive a bonus of £1000 on successful completion of the placement.

Costs you need to plan for:The placement is arranged through GapGuru, a gap year placement specialist and has a placement fee of £1295. of this £150 is payable when your application is confirmed and the balance once your selection for the position is confirmed. In addition you will need to buy your own flights and travel insurance.
