We are currently looking to recruit a Front End Developer/User Interface Developer to join our UI team and take a lead role in designing and developing the user interface for .

With over 10 million users a month, holds a prominent position in the UK’s online industries. Over the coming months, we are looking to push the boundaries of our user interface to maintain and improve our usage and user satisfaction.

As part of the Technology team, with your help we will use the latest technologies to design exciting new interactions for desktop and mobile browsers.

We require an excellent designer and front-end developer who can lead the way in creating cutting edge interfaces for one of the largest profile websites in the UK.

Role responsibilities
?Design usable journeys and interfaces for search, reviews, videos, maps
?Providing interface design and development across agile/scrum projects - working alongside Tech Leads, Java Developers, Product Owners and QA
?Build using the latest client-side technologies for all modern browsers (HTML5 & CSS3 where possible)
?Design and build for modern mobile & tablets - iPad, iPhone, Android, Blackberry etc
?Prototype new ideas to promote usage, improve efficiencies or explore new technology
?Be an evangelist for the importance of good user interface across business
?Organise user testing required on any journeys
?Analyse usage data and current user journeys to spot opportunities for improvement

Minimum Requirements
?Exposure to designing and delivering usable web interfaces (with supporting portfolio)
?Experience/exposure to using jQuery
?Proven use and knowledge of HTML (ideally v5) and CSS3 and Javascript
?Ideally experience creating interfaces for iPhone (or iPad) and other mobile devices or at least an interest in developing skills in this area
?Experience working in data-driven website using JSP/JSTL or PHP
?Self-starter with proven personal or business portfolio using above technologies.
?Experience of working in a scrum (agile) environment would be advantageous or an understanding of this methodology
?Confident presenter – can translate complex topics to developers and stakeholders alike

Nice to haves
?Management of MVT / A-B testing campaigns
?Written articles on UI best practice
?Experience working on GIS/Mapping solutions
?Familiarity with Omniture – implementing tags and analysing data
?Knowledge of SEO principles
?Strong understanding of Content Management Systems and Version Control software.

We will consider individuals who are looking to grow their experience within a front end developer role and who can demonstrate some examples of hands on work whether this be commercially or as part of a university course. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn is key to this role as is a good technical understanding.
