Organisation Description

A successful and expanding organisation are seeking to expand their team with a Financial Accountant due to growth within the business.

Job Description

This role will be responsible for the day to day accounting functions at European level. This will include:

Reporting responsibilities include general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, travel expense reporting, cash management and fixed assets. 

Assisting in the development and administration of the accounting systems, practices, controls and procedures which conform to GAAP and related operating costs, budgets and profitability. 

Working closely with other colleagues in overseas operations in providing GAAP guidance. 

Assisting in the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, practices, controls and procedures which measure the Company’s financial reporting, budgets and analysis to satisfy statutory, internal, and external requirements. 

Maintaining systems to monitor profit and loss according to budget projections, reports variances and furnishes senior management with timely financial reports. 

Classifying accounting expenditures and documents in the monthly financial statements. 

Managing timely preparation, interpretation and analysis of financial data, statements and audits which cover sales, earnings, profits, cash balances and financial results. 

Assisting and collaborating with other staff on tax filings including, corporate income tax, VAT and payroll tax filings. Assists with compiling reports for any inquiry into or tax audit of such items, as necessary. 

Organising and directing the work of direct reports, line management responsibilities including professional development, performance appraisals, and employee counseling for junior and management staff. Assigns project work and reviews workload for all direct reports. 

Trains all new staff in Oracle and on the monthly reconciliation package used by the European accounting team. 

Coordinates the testing of improvements and updates to the Oracle system for items that affect the General ledger and fixed assets modules.

Person Specification

Candidates are required to be fully Qualified (ACCA, ACMA, ACA or equivalent)  and educated to degree level (or equivalent).
Relevant experience as a Financial  / Statutory  / Senior Accountant is key as are strong IT skills including Excel and Oracle.

You will need the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment and effective presentation, documentation, leadership and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach are required.
