Title:  Management Accountant

Serene Furnishings Ltd is an established and reputable SME with over 450 active accounts and firm plans for expansion over the next two years. We are looking for a forward thinking and experienced Financial Controller to join our management team to oversee the financial function and develop intricate invoicing and reporting systems. Based at our Head Office in West Bromwich, the successful candidate will manage a small accounts team and report directly to the MD. The role is offered as permanent with a salary of £25-30k pa (dependent on experience) to the right candidate who must have:

• substantial experience in the SME market as a financial controller
• knowledge and understanding of forward exchange contracts Invoice finance and foreign transactions
• excellent knowledge of TAS books and Microsoft Dynamics
• previously managed a small accounts team
• drive and the focus to constantly improve internal systems
• the ability to work to tight deadlines
• the ability to fit into the culture of Serene and to be a team player when the occasion demands

Duties & Responsibilities

• Have overall responsibility for all day to day financial transactions including management of the Microsoft Dynamics software liaising with external accountants to produce monthly management accounts management of accounts assistant monitoring of cash flow and forecasting forward cash flows, to include bacs/cheque runs overall responsibility for all financial policies and systems administer and control computerised stock systems ensure all necessary reconciliations are completed weekly and both sales and purchase ledgers maintained to a high standard daily & weekly management information reports prepared for the MD quarterly VAT return management of Invoice Finance facility monitoring and management of export loan facility and forward exchange contracts overall responsibility for credit control and query management, to include account opening and credit   assessment ensuring payroll information prepared for external payroll bureau overall responsibility for daily invoice finance management liaising with bankers
