Overview:

Our client is a leading service provider with a number of high profile clients.  Our client takes great pride in being a progressive, fast growing organisation and is looking for a candidate of an equally high calibre.

This role offers an excellent opportunity,  both in terms of scope and reward, for a qualified accountant with a high level of commercial acumen.  This role would suit a motivated individual who is either; already in an FC role and looking for their next challenge or someone looking to make a natural transition to a role of this level. 

The successful candidate will oversee an established team of 6 and will have overall responsibility for the day to day accounting functions including SL, PL, banking, funding and statutory compliance. 

The financial controller will report directly to the Finance Director and will work closely with other members of the board.  The Financial Controller will act as key contact between the finance department and other functions of the business as well as external parties.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all relevant financial reporting cycles to ensure high quality, timely reporting.
• Ensuring that all accounting processes and records are effectively managed.
• Co-ordinating and producing budgets and forecasts
• Assisting with and overseeing funding management activities.
• Managing short and medium term cash-flow, reporting to and advising board as required.
• Carrying out regular debtor and creditor reviews, reporting key issues to management.
• Identifying and implementing continual process improvements and efficiencies.
• Controlling the production of weekly financial KPIs.
• Liaising with external stakeholder such as External auditors, HMRC, Companies House, National Statistics.
• Managing and developing finance team members.Due due the nature and scope of this role, involvement in adhoc issues and projects will likely. 

Candidate Profile (Qualifications & Skills):

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles
• Commercially and technically minded 
• Strong communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholder at all levels.
• Advanced Excel modelling skills desirable

Salary & Benefits:

• Basic salary of £45,000 - £50,000
