Personal Specification
In depth experience of preparation of management accounts to review level
A good knowledge of asset accounting and capital allowances
Extensive experience of team leadership and management
Ability to extract, manipulate, analyse data. Identifying issues and presenting potential solutions.
Extensive experience of computer accounting systems; from basic use to advanced control of parameters within systems.
Highly proficient in MS Office specifically Excel to formula etc levels
Qualified to ACCA, CIMA/ACMA level
Duties/Attributes:
To manage the day to day function of the Finance Department for the Company, including cash flow and treasury management, budgeting, reporting and keeping all members of the Board aware of the Company`s financial performance offering strategic advice as and when required.
Overall day to day control of all accounting functions, to include: Sales and Purchase Ledgers, invoicing and banking, management accounts, funding and all statutory requirements. To ensure adequate controls over receipts, payments and invoice processing are in place and are adhered to;
Carry out regular debtor and creditor reviews, management accounting reviews to ensure accuracy of records and report to management any key issues;
Management of the Company cashflow and proper reporting to Board as required. Control of the Company funds and advice to the board of actions to ensure the Company is adequately funded at all times. To include short and medium term cashflow forecasting;
To ensure that all areas of accounting processes and records are managed appropriately to good corporate governance;
To oversee reporting in a timely manner including:
Monthly Management and statutory audited accounts; Trend analysis; Monthly PandL`s comparison to budgets; Monthly balance sheets; Monthly cash analysis; Balance sheet reconciliations on leasing management account and asset management.
To control the production of key business indicator reports (to include weekly report on key drivers to financial performance) and ensuring reports are designed and implemented with Finance Director and IT support;
To co-ordinate and produce the budgets and forecasts. To ensure that the company complies with all financial statutory requirements;
To manage relationships with and provide information required (monthly and annually) to the following bodies: VAT, PAYE, Inland Revenue, National Statistics and the company auditors;
To assist Directors in managing ad hoc projects including acquisitions, disposals, new contract assignments and share holder investments;
To monitor the performance and potential of the Finance team and provide the direction, training and motivation necessary to secure their optimum commitment, competency and maximum efficiency.
