Job Description
Job Purpose:
To plan and organise the finance function in order to ensure accurate maintenance of the Company records, timely production and monitoring of Budgets, Forecasts, Management and Financial Accounts, and ensure that adequate controls are in place.
Principal Accountabilities:
Production and monitoring of Revenue and Capital Budgets, Management Accounts, Financial Accounts and Forecasts
Ensure that the financial reporting needs of partners are met
Ensure that statutory financial reporting is prepared within timescales required by the Society and law
Ensure that capital expenditure plans are adequately evaluated and cash flow is optimised
Ensure that the statutory and legal requirements of maintaining statutory books and submission of statutory and regulatory returns are complied with
Ensure compliance with external accounting requirements including compliance with IFRS and the legal requirements of the Companies’ Act
Ensure that the Company’s premises portfolio is managed in a professional, cost-effective and efficient manner and that the needs of the business are optimised
Ensure Annual Audited Statutory Accounts are signed and submitted to Companies House on time.
Act as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors and ensure Annual Audited Statutory Accounts are signed
Ensure Companies House information on shareholders and Directors is kept up to date and filed in line with statutory requirements.
Provide a mentoring, training and advisory role to employees
Maintain a working knowledge of the CLC accounting rules
Production of Legal Board Packs in accordance with parent company timescales
Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place including security
Manage team performance and delivery of objectives
Person Specification
Ideal candidates will have the following:
AAT qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Sound and up to date knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
Excellent Excel modeling skills
Experience of CLC or SRA accounting rules (preferred)
Experience in a similar role managing staff including financial control
Good communication skills at all levels
Must be proactive and more than capable to use own initiative
