Financial Analyst

The Company: Selection Group Accountancy and Finance is recruiting for a key client of ours who pride themselves in being very competitive within the utilities market. An opportunity has become available to join the existing finance department in a financial analyst capacity. This is a highly visible and key role within the business as you will be business partnering to provide timely and robust data and commentary to help the business make the right decisions.

The Role: You will take on a key role in liaising between both the financial and commercial functions and be responsible for a range financial of activities including financial and statutory accounting (compliant with both UK and International GAAP), business performance analysis, planning and cash-flow management. You will be required to generate robust business plans and provide short/long term forecasts to support investment decisions and trading strategies. Reporting to the FD, key responsibilities will include:

-          Business planning

-          Modelling and analysis (capital expenditure/financing requirements)

-          Financial forecasting

-          Cash-flow forecasting

-          Variance analysis

-          Report preparation to board level.

The Person:

Ideally, the candidate will be ACA qualified with a fantastic academic track record and have experience of working within a Corporate Finance or Corporate Recovery function. You will have excellent organisational skills and have hands-on practical experience on working with distressed business.  Financial modeling and cash-flow experience is an absolute necessity.
